[ August 2021. We are now more-or-less back to normal for membership applications after the Covid disruption.]
We are open to new members, both existing paddlers, and new paddlers. Joining costs £33 per year (adult membership).
If you can already paddle, (if, for example, you’ve previously been a member of another canoe club), please feel free to come along to any of our club evenings to say hello; these are on Thursdays at Bristol docks in the summer, or Wednesdays at Bristol South pool in the winter. You should email our club on email@example.com to verify when the next appropriate session will be. Note that we can get very busy, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that any space is available on any specific session.
Beginners: If you are a beginner and you’d like to learn, first you should be aware that we are not a very organised club, and only occasionally offer proper tuition courses. However, we will be happy to let you have a paddle to see if you enjoy it. You should email our club on firstname.lastname@example.org to verify when the next appropriate session will be. You should be able to come to one of our summer evening sessions at Bristol docks on the first Thursday of the month, or to any of our Wednesday evening pool sessions in the winter. Note that we can get very busy, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that any space is available on any specific session.
Please see our General Information page for prices, times and directions.
We accept youth members, subject to rules as described in our Youth and Child protection criteria.
We also accept family members, and associate membership for those who live away from Bristol. Please contact the club for further information about these.
We would prefer if you come along to one of our sessions and say hello before joining. Once you’ve said hello, we are using an online system to manage our membership; please go to the
Bristol Canoe Club webcollect page and sign up there.
